April 2026

 Welcome to my April furtle

My orange car was replaced by a seafoam green car: our first brand new car, and our first all electric car: quite a learning curve but I think we are getting the hang of it!

I bought this fabric when I visited Jackie: I love it but I wasn't concentrating and bought jersey rather than patchwork cotton.

It made a lovely sun hat for Jack!

I did some customer embroidery

and made some Gingers: Annual different limb day

And annual Puffin day 😂

The collection of giant pin cushions has grown

And a friend has become a grandma again

Gorgeous munchkin is a happy boy: this was taken at 5 months

This EPP patchwork has been under construction for a few years, but I've now started the plan to finish it

An evening class at Chertsey went well: kawandi as applique on tote bags

Not much else this month

Keep safe and stay happy

October 2025

Well goodbye to October: the year really is picking up speed isn't it!

I finished this topper for the lady chapel altar: we get the occasional bird or squirrel in the church so like to cover the altar cloth: we are currently using an old duvet cover so I made this

I
also made a new altar cloth.  I don't have anywhere to lay out 2.5m so I moved into the village hall: we have a desk top ironing board so I could move the iron along rather than moving the cloth!

The embroidery is faint but there

I embroidered a few customer labels

And made a few taggies for some babies that have arrived recently (so many girls!)

I did some hand sewing and made this bunny

Jackie visited and brought this fab nappy clutch for the baby

Nik has been working on two projects:  Obviously the 40 week body building project (less than 2 weeks to go!) and also a pathwork for her husband using the Southampton FC club shirts his dad bought him over the years: Not bad for her first patchwork quilt!!!

I started piecing a general i-Spy quilt then remembered I'd made a flimsy for the baby a while go but hadn't finished it (so that's what I'm now working on, no photos yet)

Niki and George's kitchen looked like this a few weeks ago . . .

And has now morphed into a real kitchen!  Well done Brian and George!

And because this post has been a lot about Niki and the baby, to finish here is the current position on Lisa's needle turn applique QAYG blocks - aren't they awesome

2025 May

 Hello June!

Well you'll be surprised to know this month is full of photos 😂

Completed "show and tell" felt birds from the Chertsey Ladies

And the start of slouch bags

My ridiculous to-do list

But a few finishes

Including the binding on the new hive quilt

This is a dresden plate flimsy that came over from Jackie's a long while ago.  I have finally embroidered  dresden plates on the blank blocks, but I'm not sure they show on the photos

I did a few patches (they are now off the to-do board)

and a few customer embroideries

Then I hopped on a plane to Ireland with the Dresden Plate flimsey: it's now been layers and basted so over to Jackie to quilt

And this is ready for quilting too

We don't get many pics of us, but this was a nice one

We made some project pouches

I have finally finished the tiny grandmother's flower garden: not sure what I'll do with it though

Hayley, Jane and I had a play with some fabric paints (thank you Val)

I really love the heliotropic qualities when you try things in the sun!

A friend brought us some donated quilts, and I managed to snap up this one (this pic shows half)

Deep breath and lots of measure twice checking and I cut it! First like this

Then a bit more detail

and now I have a quilted jacket!

but the most amazing creation has been left until last

And it's nothing to do with me

Huge congratulations to Niki and George

Munchkin due mid November

❤❤❤
