Easter's (Nearly) Over

One of the major advantages of working in a school is the school holidays. For everyone else Easter was over and done with nearly two weeks ago, but I'm clinging to the last few hours before 'Easter holidays' becomes a normal working week!

So what have I been sewing?

I pieced and machine bound this quilt (it's twin was only finished 11 months ago!!!)

I attached the blue plus blocks to a fleece, and having mucked up the centering was driven mad by it's not-quite-symmetrical ness

And had to chop a bit off one side and the bottom

I made some little project bags to be sold at Richmond and Kew quilters exhibition in the autumn,

I made a sample tote bag for a customer,

 and a trial version which will hopefully lead to a whole load that I'm hoping to sell

Plenty of Plusses

I've been looking at arranging my Plus blocks:

Staggered?

Wide sashing?

Thin sashing?

 I'm a bit short on the blue so the thin sashing is looking promising!!

I spent a fab afternoon at Chertsey museum yesterday - after the fake cathedral windows last month we started on real ones this month

 

Didn't they do well?

Sewing squares

Yesterday's strips have been stitched, crosscut and stitched, and I now have a lovely pile of plus blocks

I also have a very happy daughter in Australia:

She won't be home as soon as she might have been, but she's happy - and that makes me happy too 

Cutting Fabric

Typical - I'm finally able to cut into some new fabric, but I've got a really busy week!
I have managed to slice up a thin 1/4 bundle of blues and creams, plus a few metres of blue

But no further yet - Watch this space!
