June started with a lovely afternoon at Chertsey Museum: ladies brought in their slough bags for show and tell . . . 

and we made Quilt As You Go blocks for the June session

 

I finally decided it was time to replace this birthday chart: it's complicated to add extra dates, and I've always wished it had Birthdays or Congratulations on the top rather than Friends

So I had a fun afternoon with a calk board and liquid chalk pens (I managed to miss a few dates so this needs a bit more work)

I've made some EPP hexies towards covering the peace sign, although I have also removed all the black yarn now.  I need to stabilise the knitting then decide what I'm doing with the EPPs.  It can wait until colder weather!!!

A lovely week in Spain

And a hand sewing project, mostly completed in Spain

I popped over to Lisa's to feed her cats: I just had to take this pic which showcases patchworks and a cat basket that Lisa made

I volunteer with our local Repair Café, and was asked to repair this Platypus (Plucky).  Plucky is clearly very loved but is a bit too damaged to be within my comfort zone.

I have a friend, Heather, who is a bit of a whizz at mending cuddly toys, so I am hoping she can help with advice  or support

Our Stitch group (www.WraysburyStitch.blogspot.com/) has decided to support local women: We've made up these boxes for the toilets in the local churches and village halls

2024 October

I rather feel that someone has stolen a couple of months - I don't believe it can actually be November already!  

Not much to show for the month of October, but here's a few pics:

Finished papoose pouches

I bought the centre wool in Texas, but ran out before it reached a reasonable length.  I thought I found the same wool on ETSY but clearly not 😕.  I've fallen out of love with it but at least it's finsihed!

Another finished was two Grandmother's flower garden quilts for this lovely lady's new great grandchildren.  She started the quilts in the 1970s and gave me the flimsey about a year ago and I reduced it to 2 cot sized quilts and quilted and bound them and gave them back - she was delighted!

And I was delighted . . . I love this enamel jug but the ice would all fall out in the first pour.  My lovely repair cafe man, Peter 3D printed an ice stopper insert from squishy plastic so now the ice remains in the jug.  Roll on next summer

I held a class at Windsor Baptist church making willow weaving stars  - aimed at children the adults had great fun too!

I just wanted to share this Lego envy: Jackie's daughter S has sorted by colour and it's a dream to find the right pieces!

I asked my cousin in Norway if she would knit me a traditional cardigan, and oh boy has she delivered!  I love, love LOVE this, and even a hat from the left over wool!

Well that's it for October: although I've managed to scrabble together a month's furtle* it doesn't show much that I've made . . . hopefully I'll do better next time

("Furtle" is a word that means to rummage around or search through something, often in the hope of finding something overlooked.)

2022 June

 Hello - how did June look for you?  Mine was pretty good!  We had the Queen' Platinum Jubilee, so of course I needed a new Ginger, window banner and t-shirt

And what felt like a few miles of bunting (recycled fabric and now put away to be reused)  

Neighbours out in force for a street party

I have started a, um, not sure what to call it, rectangular poncho?  I could get enough cheap wool in one colour so I have a greens and blues and browns, and a browns and beige: I managed to do a chain free casting on method (this method I think) and I'm pleased with the colours

And here it is on holiday with me!!!  

We had an amazing 9 days in Iceland!  Just a few pics here but loads more here if you need to see a few billion puffins!!!  This was our home for the 9 days

And these pics were taken at a remote museum where I snapped some of the caafty exhibits

The Icelandic people believe (or want to believe) in elves and 'hidden people' - and these hidden peopel were being sold at the airport

Meanwhile three Eton School Boys were created by Lizzie for a customer

And under the banner of Repair Cafe I mended some jeans

And finally, fed up with the shawl edged curling, 

I added a border and now it lays flat :-)
