2025 May

 Hello June!

Well you'll be surprised to know this month is full of photos 😂

Completed "show and tell" felt birds from the Chertsey Ladies

And the start of slouch bags

My ridiculous to-do list

But a few finishes

Including the binding on the new hive quilt

This is a dresden plate flimsy that came over from Jackie's a long while ago.  I have finally embroidered  dresden plates on the blank blocks, but I'm not sure they show on the photos

I did a few patches (they are now off the to-do board)

and a few customer embroideries

Then I hopped on a plane to Ireland with the Dresden Plate flimsey: it's now been layers and basted so over to Jackie to quilt

And this is ready for quilting too

We don't get many pics of us, but this was a nice one

We made some project pouches

I have finally finished the tiny grandmother's flower garden: not sure what I'll do with it though

Hayley, Jane and I had a play with some fabric paints (thank you Val)

I really love the heliotropic qualities when you try things in the sun!

A friend brought us some donated quilts, and I managed to snap up this one (this pic shows half)

Deep breath and lots of measure twice checking and I cut it! First like this

Then a bit more detail

and now I have a quilted jacket!

but the most amazing creation has been left until last

And it's nothing to do with me

Huge congratulations to Niki and George

Munchkin due mid November

2019 Wk 30 - some progress

Thanks to the big horizontal surfaces we have at Crafty Church I managed to get three tops spray basted - I don't even think I showed this first one as a completed flimsy!  1767 hexies!!!

It has been spray basted onto a fleece blanket, and tacked around the edges, but quilting (it will be hand quilted inside the flowers!) is a hot task, so that will wait until the cooler months

Same with this one: fewer pieces (270 maybe?), and a smaller result (definitely just a lap quilt as I ran out of Australian fabrics and didn't want too much repetition) ), but spray basted onto fleece and waiting to be quilted

and finally this one has been spray basted onto just a cotton sheet.  It will be machine quilted but will have to wait its turn  (thank you Jackie for the gorgeous FQ pack!)

The reason the sunshine block will have to wait?  There are 4 brick wall i-spy quilts that have been cut and are being pieced, so the machine is threaded with grey until these are done - I have a stall at a village fair at the end of next month so I need to have some stuff to show and hopefully sell!!!

And because there has to be *some* EPP going on . . . I've started piecing this one

Wk 2018 Wk 46 - a playdate and basting in church

My friend Sharon came to a playdate here - she particularly wanted to work on a quilt for her husband

This is the quilt once it had been basted (isn't it fab - her first quilt!)

First though she needed cuddles with the cat!

We had planned the playdate for Crafty Church day so we could use the tables on the pew backs!  We taped down the backing and then spray basted the wadding

The surface is quite high so Sharon went up on the surface on her hands and knees!!!

Then we took the whole lot upstairs and she started sewing.  She stitched through tea break, everyone else's goodbyes and me putting everything away.  I didn't get a pic of the quilting (in the ditch) but it looks so good!

She needs to finish the quilting, then we'll add borders (and embroider his name at the top and hers at the bottom) then it can be bound ready for Christmas (yayhay - we'll need another playdate!)

Totally unnecessarily she brought 'thank you' goodies (but I didn't say no!)

This evening I did a little more on the Not La Pass

and whilst babysitting last night I listed to the new Jack Reacher book and stitched the football patches onto the scarves

Then did some work on the Hexi rainbow quilt.

April 2026

Welcome to my April furtle My orange car was replaced by a seafoam green car: our first brand new car, and our first all electric car: quit...
